Hi, I’m Tracey the owner of Brides of Dorset, a new bespoke bridal boutique in Gillingham, North Dorset, on the Dorset, Wiltshire and Somerset borders. Brides of Dorset offers off the peg ex-stock/sample designer wedding dresses for half the RRP and stock dresses from the stunning designer Louisa Jackson Bridal collection. These are primarily designed for the plus size, fuller figure bride, but are made to measure, so available to all brides of any shape and size. You will also find veils, accessories and a collection of off the peg Mother of the Bride/Mother of the Groom outfits.   Running my own bridal shop has always been a massive dream of mine. The pure happiness and excitement that I felt the first time I entered a bridal shop with my sister to help her find her dream wedding dress, still exists inside me today, 18 years later! I knew in my heart all those years ago that this was my dream job, but pursued a different career as a Midwife and then spent 10 years raising my 3 boys. I appreciate how lucky I am to have had this opportunity however, at the same time, I came to realise I needed to do something for myself and after spending so many years surrounded by a house full of boys, what could be more girly than starting my own bridal wedding dress shop? With a blush pink colour scheme and a luxurious feel to the boutique, I’m in my happy place that I’ve been dreaming of all those years ago.   Add to this the fact that I have a very special birthday coming up this year, it felt even more important to me to make this dream come true. It doesn’t matter your age, you only have one life and I hope to inspire my boys never to give up on their dreams, as dreams really can come true.   The butterfly symbol on my company logo holds a special meaning to me, butterflies are a memory of my nan, a very special person in my life and the happy times I shared with her. I always dreamed of having a baby girl to name after her, but 3 boys later I realised this was a dream beyond my control, so instead, Daphney Jean Hearn, I dedicate and open this bridal boutique in memory of you.   So to anyone reading this blog, follow your dreams and make them happen, as dreams really can come true!
